Mornings with the Salt River Wild Horses

When the weather is cool(ish) in the desert, we head out as often as we can to explore new terrains! This Spring, we ventured out on several beautiful mornings to the Salt River/Usury area, just northeast of Phoenix. With our new camera in tow (Nikon D7100), we hoped to capture the perfect sunrise or sunset. If we were REALLY lucky, we might catch a glimpse of the infamous Salt River wild horses. We were VERY VERY lucky this spring and we happened upon the beautiful mustangs several times, including mares with foals! Enjoy the slideshow of pictures from our recent visits. We’ll update this slideshow as we capture new pictures so check back often! If you’re interested in supporting the preservation of these magnificient creatures, please visit the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group website for more information and volunteer/donation opportunities.
